Fire (fir) - the state of combustion in which inflammable material burns producing heat, flames and often smoke.
Safety (saf'te) - freedom from danger and risks
As of October 2005 the Fire Department no longer issued Fire Certificates to businesses but the regulations state that ALL businesses now must have a Fire Risk Assessment. The penalty for not having a Fire Risk Assessment could be a £20,000 on the spot penalty, plus if you have a fire think of all the other costs with no insurance cover.
